To begin the CPS test, a person is typically presented with a set of questions or tasks which must be completed as quickly as possible and accurately within a specific time limit. The test records each response and calculates an overall number of cycles per second (or cps) for the entire set of data. It then determines an average cps for the individual based on their performance across all tasks performed.
