Joshua King, or Josh King as he is more commonly known, is an exciting young player and a rising star of Spanish soccer. He currently plays for Real Madrid, one of the world's most successful soccer clubs.
King signed with Real Madrid in April 2019, joining on a three-year contract. He made his debut as a substitute in July 2019, coming on in the second half against Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup. Since then, he has been part of their regular squad, featuring heavily in their U-21 team and Cup games.
King is primarily a winger who is capable of playing both wide roles across the front line. However, he tends to operate best on the right side, cutting inside and linking up play with his teammates. King is also an expert goalscorer and has been contributing important goals to his team since his arrival.
King's primary role at Real Madrid has been that of a backup forward to Karim Benzema or Vinícius Júnior when either misses out through injury or suspension - something which often happens during any given season. Since joining Madrid, he has emerged as an reliable option for Zinedine Zidane and often features as part of the starting lineup whenever Benzema or Júnior are unavailable. In addition to providing cover for these two players upfront, King's versatility allows him to play any position across the front line such as striker or winger depending on team requirements and tactical adjustments made by the manager during a game.
